Description
Seven indigenous reserves of the Sikuani and Piapoco peoples form this project located in Cumaribo, Vichada and Inírida, Guainía, Colombia. The name was chosen by the communities in reference to the Tree of Life, from which all fruits or foods came.
KALIAWIRI REDD+ aims to protect 885.215 acres (358,234 hectares) of forest and benefit more than 1,000 people belonging to the reserves. Its action lines include establishing educational processes in forest governance, entrepreneurship, gender equality, rescuing ancestral cultural traditions, and territorial demarcation; as well as reforestation, community monitoring, implementation of renewable energies, and improvement of communication infrastructure, among others.
By purchasing carbon credits, you join the conservation action of over 885.215 acres (358,234 hectares) of forest and benefit more than 4,000 people living in this territory in Vichada and Guianía, Colombia.
